Hsin Chong Construction Group (0404.HK) is pleased to announce that Dr. Kenneth Chu Ting-kin has been appointed as the Non- Executive Chairman of the company with effect from 17 February 2011. Dr. Kenneth Chu is the Vice Chairman of Mission Hills Group and the son of Dr. David Chu, the ultimate controlling shareholder of the Company.
Dr. Kenneth Chu has also been appointed as a Non- Executive Director and the Chairman of Synergis Holdings Limited (2340.HK) with effect from 17 February 2011. Hsin Chong Construction Group is the major shareholder of Synergis Holdings Limited.
The company would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. David Chu for his valuable contribution to the Group during his tenure of office. Due to his other family business which requires more of his commitments and dedications and at the same time, his wishes to spend more time with his family, Dr. David Chu has tendered his resignation as a non-executive director and the chairman of the Company with effect from 16 February 2011.
Dr. Kenneth Chu, aged 36, has over 15 years of experience in property and golf asset development, and has been managing Mission Hills Group responsible for planning and managing the construction and design of sports and property assets of Mission Hills Group, including championship golf courses and residential properties. Educated at The University of Western Ontario in Canada, Dr. Kenneth Chu was honored with a Doctorate of Laws by his alma mater for his contributions in sports leisure development and community services in China and Hong Kong. Dr. Kenneth Chu together with his father Dr. David Chu are named by the ¡§Golf Inc.¡¨ as one of the top 35 most influential persons (ranked 9th) in the golf world in 2010.
Dr. Kenneth Chu has been actively involved in community services in China and Hong Kong to promote interaction and collaboration between China and Hong Kong young business leaders, including being a member of Chinese People¡¦s Political Consultative Conference of Hainan Committee, a standing committee member of All-China Youth Federation, a vice chairman of Hong Kong United Youth Association, a standing committee member of Tianjin Youth Federation, a director of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Limited and a member of Sir Murray MacLehose Trust Fund Investment Advisory Committee.
