The Hong Kong Green Awards were established by the Green Council to encourage Hong Kong’s large corporations and SMEs to incorporate environmentally friendly considerations into their management processes and operations.
On 16 December 2011, five Hsin Chong project sites were each awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in the Green Management Award (GMA) category. These included Nam Cheong property foundation removal and reprovisioning, superstructure works for the City University of Hong Kong’s Academic 3 Building, commercial building development at 28 Hennessy Road, public housing development at the Ex-Shatin Married Quarters and Shatin Area 4C.
The GMA’s assessment criteria include policy, strategy and leadership; energy and water conservation; waste reduction; indoor air quality control, maintenance and improvement; carbon footprint reduction; green purchasing; as well as promotion, training, communication and partnerships.
